BC News 9-7-18

Listen to this great story from Brother Phil-

I just EXPERIENCED GOD in one of the most powerful and unique ways. Aubrey Short will soon be removed from life support.  He was scheduled for Jim Sutherland to baptize within the next couple of weeks.  Because that will not be possible his sweet wife asked if I could baptize him there in Jackson’s, SICU.  I did and all of heaven filled that room.  To God be all Glory.  Bro. Phil

We will continue baptizing this Sunday. Don’t miss what God is doing at our chapel- “Come Experience Boones Chapel!!”

This Week @Boones Chapel 4-1-18

Hello Everyone,

As this message goes out the 40 Hours of Prayer is coming to an end. I hope that you were able to experience this personal time alone with God. I also ask that if you could not make it that you would take some time to pray for our service this weekend. We expect to have many visitors this weekend. Please make sure that everyone is welcomed into God’s house this weekend.

It has been a full week for our pastor, Bro. Phil and Susanne and their family. They have represented us on their trip to Brazil. There are many challenges ahead for this area of Brazil and as Bro. Phil said they need “Hope.” Hope that comes from Jesus. While ministering there Bro. Phil’s stepfather was admitted to the hospital. While this changed their plans some Bro. Phil and Susanne are now in Gadsden helping and ministering to his mother. Please pray especially for his family. Bro. Phil will be at Boones Chapel preaching this Sunday but it has been an eventful 2 weeks. We look forward to hearing about it!

Tonight at 6:30 PM will be our Good Friday Service. It will be in the Sanctuary where we will continue the theme of Easter and share with a Communion Service. This will is one of my favorite times to gather with the church family and celebrate what Jesus did for us when he died for us on the cross at Calvary.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YARD SIGNS AND BANNERS ARE GREAT BUT IT’S THAT PERSONAL INVITATION THAT WILL CAUSE SOMEONE TO VISIT OUR CHURCH SO WE CAN SHARE THE GOSPEL. OR BETTER YET, SHARRE YOUR STORY WITH THEM. TOMORROW WE WILL HAVE SOME MORE DRAMA ALONG WITH GREAT PREACHING TO MAKE THE GOSPEL MESSAGE COME TO LIFE. WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AND YOUR NEIGHBORS THERE!!

BLESSINGS!

BRO. TOMMY

  1. Due to ongoing growth in Sunday School, two of our classes will begin meeting under the tents in the gym.  College & Career and I-Connect (young adults) come early and enjoy coffee and fellowship.  Well done Della, Coach Lansdell, Bro. Matt and Blake!  Your leadership and faithfulness to teach Gods Word is bearing much fruit!
  2. Yard Signs will be handed out tomorrow inviting our community to join us for Easter Celebrations.  Please plan to get yours and together lets blanket our community with good news.
  3. Susanne and I leave this Wednesday for Belo Horizonte, Brazil.  Pray that God sends a sweeping REVIVAL to the RESGATE (Rescue) Church as well as the entire city.  Please continue to be faithful to attend and serve while we are away.  The pulpit will be filled every service in our absence with God’s choice and anointed preachers which include….Caleb Winningham, Matt Hall, Jay Penton and Jim Sutherland.

REMEMBER:  To whom much is given, much is required.

This Week @Boones Chapel

January 27, 2018

God requires that we set aside 1 day per week for coorperate worship and rest.  Lets think about tomorrowJanuary 28.

IT’S GOING TO RAIN.  Rain is a gift from God and not to be used as an excuse.  I believe rain is a test which grades our level of commitment.

3 CHALLENGES:

  1. Decide now if you will attend Sunday School and Worship tommorrow.  If you wait until in the morning when it’s raining and you are tired, chances are you will decide to stay home.  God deserves better.
  2. Men, bring your umbrella.  Lets be standing at every car when it pulls onto our campus (before and after Sunday School).  A kind word and an offer to assist will be an awesome expression of our love for each other.   Youth and college students, please take lead in this assignment.
  3. Ladies, allow our men and boys to assist you.  We have failed to train this generation to be respectful gentlemen.  Please give us the honor to serve you.

Bro. Phil

P.S.  Sunday nights continue to be an incredible part of what makes Boones Chapel special.  You don’t want to miss tomorrow night…plan now.

January 21, 2018

As I type this email we have only been finished with today’s service for 30 minutes and already it’s amazing what God is doing in the lives of all that attended.    The number one question I am being asked is how can I watch the video again or share it with a friend.  It’s simple,  click on this link  https://billygraham.org/video/flying-blind/ .  I only ask for one thing in return for this free video link… ONE PINT OF BLOOD.

I’M JUST KIDDING ABOUT THAT BEING PAYMENT BUT VERY SERIOUS ABOUT ASKING YOU TO COME TO THE CHURCH BEFORE 5:00 AND GIVE THE GIFT OF LIFE.  The blood mobile is here and our goal is to see 39 pints donated before 5:00.  Please don’t expect someone else to help us reach this goal.  We need you.  I am literally begging you because this is important.

First, I challenge you to never criticize those in leadership that must make final decisions.  There’s always a multitude of “expert opinions” each of which are valid, but a final decision must always be made.

Due to the strong possibility that the melting snow will quickly re-freeze it is not worth the risk for our church family to be on the roads this evening.  You are a vital part of the body of Christ and we want to take care of the Body (church).  All Wednesday evening activities at Boones Chapel are canceled.    Use today wisely.  Be amazed by the beauty and allow that amazement to lead you to worship.  As you worship, pray.  As you pray, expect God to impress you to action.  Then, simply obey, no matter what He may ask you to do.

Please help share this announcement so all will know.

P.S.

Men, please reply to the following invitation by opening the link….

This Week @Boones Chapel

December 24, 2017

Many have expressed they will never forget Christmas Eve 2017.  God so blessed us as we gathered for worship this morning that it made a lasting impression that will not soon be forgotten.Evidence that  we’ve been with God is the outpouring of love and support to the many in our church family who have lost a loved one these last few months.

I am being asked how to help the Cook family following the homegoing of Mrs. Hazel.   Funeral expenses alone are enormous.

If you would like to help with this unexpected expense, please give your love gift through the Boones Chapel Benevolence ministry .  You can give online atbooneschapel.org/giving or mail/bring your gift to the church.

While meeting this immediate need please prayerfully consider a year end gift to the general fund so that we can end 2017 financially strong .

This Week @Boones Chapel

December 9, 2017

Important announcement about tomorrows (December 10) services at Boones Chapel… BOTH MORNING AND EVENING SERVICES WILL BE AWESOME!!!!

The building will be warm and the parking lot will be dry and safe.  Men begin the morning with breakfast at 7:00. There is a Sunday School class expecting each of you and I pray you will make an extra effort to be there at 9:00 am.

During the 6:00 pm service we will revisit the story of how God seemed to really mess up Mary and Joseph’s plans for engagement, marriage and family.  What seemed to be a big mess up ended up being the perfect plan of God.

I need your help.  If you have a story (testimony) of how things seem to have been “messed up” in your life only to find God used the “mess” to give you a blessing come prepared to share.  This will be a very special service as we share together “what to do when God messes up our plans”.  Your testimony could give hope to someone struggling this Christmas.
